SPHERE

Distributed

Overview

The Sphere project revolved around an ecosystem of products, encompassing both internal tools and external-facing applications. These products served different purposes, with some catering to internal processes, while others were designed to be customer-facing

My Role

In this role, I oversaw the design process, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate the project's objectives into tangible and user-centric design solutions.

With a focus on creating a cohesive and efficient ecosystem I was tasked with crafting seamless interactions between various products, optimising processes, and enhancing the overall user experience.

SPHERE ECOSYSTEM

The project centres around ‘Sphere,’ an ecosystem of products utilised by Distributed. This ecosystem includes a contractor facing app for users to sign up, upload resumes, manage job profiles, and search for jobs. Additionally, there is an internal app for staff to find talent based on skills and availability.

user needs and requirements

User feedback sessions were conducted to gather insights and understand the current app issues. Based on the feedback, a delivery plan was created, prioritising tasks through collaborative workshops. This approach ensured a targeted and user-centred improvement process.

wireframing and mapping

These diagrams provided a high-level overview of the application's components and their interactions.

They helped to visualise the overall architecture and how different modules or systems were interconnected.

mid fidelity wireframes

At this stage of the project, I crafted mid-fidelity wireframes for the ‘Search and Match’ feature, as well as the display of search results. These wireframes represented a more detailed visual representation of the user interface, illustrating the layout, functionalities, and interactions of these critical components.

For displaying search results, the wireframes demonstrated how talent profiles or relevant information would be presented to users. They focused on presenting the information in an organised and visually appealing manner, facilitating easy comparison and decision-making.

search and filter

At this stage, the project advanced to the creation of high-fidelity mockups. These mockups presented a polished and detailed representation of the user interface, incorporating the finalised design elements, visual styles, and interactions.

CAndidate profile

This wireframe provides a rough layout for the candidate profile drawer. The drawer displays essential information about the candidate, such as their photo, name, location, skills, work experience, availability, and contact information.

As the project reached its culmination, a set of captivating and polished final designs for the candidate profile were created. These designs represent the culmination of iterative user feedback, thoughtful design considerations, and adherence to the application's branding and visual guidelines.

Refinement

As the project continues to progress, the application has successfully replaced the need for third-party applications, streamlining internal processes and reducing inefficiencies.

The team has embraced a user-centric approach, continually refining the application based on real user feedback and analytics.
